Find out how you can make a difference with a career at Society. Society Insurance is seeking an experienced Claims Manager to join our Property, Auto, & Liability (PAL) Claims Team. This Claims Manager will manage the staff, provide claims and administrative expertise, and mentor/develop the team. About the Role Collaborates closely with the Underwriting, Risk Control, and Marketing departments by providing feedback on claims trends. Monitors state and department results throughout the year and making adjustments to strategy to achieve company and department goals. Utilizes department key performance measures and completed audit results as a tool for coaching staff. Recommends action by reviewing and analyzing damages, coverage, and liability issues on large losses. Provides quality service by maintaining claims support quality and customer service standards; analyzing and solving difficult quality and customer service problems; initiating audits; and recommending system improvements. Reviews department-related expenses for reasonableness and necessity. Accomplishes claims support operations by managing claims support process; evaluating work results; and enforcing claims support productivity standards. Completes necessary administrative work by (including, but not limited to) approving timecards; approving PTO; completing incentive plan key performance quarterly reviews; and completing yearly salary administration. Prepares for after-hours claims emergencies by coordinating the emergency response team. Provides authoritative support by attending conferences and conducting field audits. Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, and training employees; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; and developing personal growth opportunities. Develops staff by coaching, mentoring, and training employees; and appraising job results. About You You enjoy coaching, motivating, and developing others. You are comfortable delegating and encourages ownership. You enjoy taking calculated risks. You are comfortable analyzing, investigating, and using the facts to make decisions. You like taking a systematic approach in making process improvements. What it Will Take Bachelors Degree with 10 years of experience in multi-line claims including: direct field claims losses, coverage analysis, and litigation management. Prior claims supervisory experience supervising Claims Representatives, Field Claims Representatives, and Auto Damage Appraisers. Ability to obtain and maintain proper licensing prior to handling a state that requires it. A proven record of exemplary performance in direct handling of losses and claims supervision. Recognized high-level designation (example: CPCU, AIC, CIC). Valid drivers license and a satisfactory driving record (based on Society Insurances guidelines). Significant experience in the direct handling of large file investigations into auto accidents, liability claims, and fire losses (including cause and origin and subrogation) highly desirable.
